The removal and handling of a hazardous material such as Asbestos is heavily regulated. Lothway-TBS holds licences in both Victoria and New South Wales, to perform friable asbestos removal.
Lothway-TBS performs friable and non friable asbestos removal for the oil and gas industry, and road industry.
In addition to holding the licence, for each friable asbestos activity, Lothway-TBS has to notify or apply for a permit with state health and safety regulators providing details on methods used to remove the asbestos, the controls that will be implemented to prevent impacts on safety and the environment, and details on where the material will be disposed.
Only personnel holding asbestos removal tickets are used for asbestos removal activities. These personnel have been trained, and are fully aware of the hazards, PPE, controls and other issues associated with asbestos.
Full controls including negative pressure containments, air extraction, HEPA filters, air locks and decontamination units are some of the methods used to protect people and the environment from the impacts from asbestos. Environmental and health and safety monitoring is performed during asbestos removal projects.
Following the removal of asbestos containing insulation, Lothway-TBS replace the asbestos with alternative thermal insulation.
Our approach and performance – and having achieved over 200,000 hours LTI (Lost Time Injury) free, and still counting, in a Corrosion Under Insulation project make Lothway-TBS one of the leaders in asbestos removal.
